2018 Season - Week 17

Johnnie Wins Premiership Again

After a number of years of close finishes with lead changes in the Premiership this year was a very quiet year. In fact the only move this week was AP moving ahead of Mark to finish second in the Conference. Johnnie wins the Papas Fritas Trophy for a record fifth time with the fourth highest season score of all time (620 points). Marcus finishes second for the second time in three years with the 10th highest score (573) while Craig scored the most points for a third placed finish (541). His attempt for a Three-peat was undone when Kareem Hunt was cut by Kansas City for disciplinary reasons in week 12. Daz won the Conference for a record fourth time, scoring 558 points (the second ever highest Conference total & 12th highest all time). Daz is joined by AP and Mark in replacing Wayne, George and David S in the Premiership. These high scores helped all 16 owners as a whole score the most points ever, as we totalled 7371 points, eclipsing the 7367 points we scored in 2012, so congratulations to everyone. BUMS Playoffs And so we begin our knock-out game and the road to BUMSBowl XXIII starts this weekend. Again no rule changes so to refresh your memory here’s how our knock-out tournament works. It’s a head-to-head contest with the highest scorer in each game going through. You must select 1 QB, 1 kicker and any 4 outfield players to play within a budget of $7.5 million using the same player prices as the regular season. (See spreadsheet attached). You can change all players between each round and in each game no more than 2 players can appear in both teams. Please get your teams back to me as soon as possible and no later than by 10pm on Friday (UK time) so we can sort out any swaps needed. Whoever gets their team to me first gets first pick of players to swap, if necessary, so a speedy reply is key. If the scores are tied at the end of the games the tie-breaker is the Momentum Rule where the player that scored latest in any game is ruled to have “Momentum” and wins. The second tie-breaker is total yards rushing & receiving by your outfield players. As always top scoring owner plays lowest and so on, so here are the Wildcard match ups:- Johnnie v David S, Marcus v George, Daz v Wayne, Craig v Dave G, Cheryl v Ron, AP v Alex, Mark v Chief and Andy H v Aaron. NFL Playoffs In the AFC the champions are Kansas City (West 12-4) and New England (East 11-5) with bye weeks & Houston (South 11-5) and Baltimore (North 10-6) playing in the wildcard games at home against Indianapolis (10-6) and LA Chargers (12-4) respectively. In the NFC the champs are New Orleans (South 13-3) and LA Rams (West 13-3) with bye weeks & Chicago (North 12-4) and Dallas (East 10-6) playing at home against Seattle (10-6) and Philadelphia (9-7). BUMS on Seats We will be at HQ at 9:30pm on Saturday to watch Colts @ Texans live, then record the Seattle Dallas match (kick off 1:15am) and watch that as-live at HQ at 3:30pm Sunday before the live Chargers @ Ravens game at 6pm.
